MONAST LERINENSE (1667,1668), MONAST LERIN (1169,1671) = Monastery of Lérins C CAS (1169,1671) = Congregation of (Monte-)Cassino, to which the Monastery of Lérins belonged
DECUS ET ORNAMEN ECCLAE = Glory and pride of the (Catholic) Church.

SUB UMBRA SEDI = Device of the Principality of Seborga, translatable as "I sat in the shadow".
Possibly a shortening of SUB UMBRA SEDIS = In the shadow of the (Holy) See".

The Crown represented is the one of a Prince, together with the symbols of the mitred Abbot of Lérins.
